Lompoc Fire Department announces new chief

City of Lompoc Fire Department

LOMPOC, Calif. – The city of Lompoc will have a new and official chief of the Lompoc Fire Department starting Jan. 9: Brian Fallon.

Interim Lompoc Fire Chief Scott Nunez has served in that position since July after the retirement of Chief Alicia Welch.

Fallon most recently served as the fire chief for the City of Victorville and brings more than 20 years of experience as an emergency first responder.

“After reviewing numerous candidates and having several panel reviews, Brian Fallon really stood out.
He brings a tremendous level of professional experience and has the leadership qualities that we were
hoping to find,” said Lompoc City Manager Dean Albro.

Fallon, a California native, earned his bachelor's degree in Fire Science Administration from Waldorf University.

He earned a paramedic certification from Mount San Antonio Community College where he also served as instructor of fire technology for seven years.

Future Chief Fallon said, “I am extremely honored and humbled to lead an amazing group of men and women with the Lompoc Fire Department. I am excited to see what the future holds for our fire department and the city of Lompoc."
