Minuteman III test launch aborted at Vandenberg AFB

KEYT

VANDENBERG IR FORCE BASE, Calif. - A planned test launch of a Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missile was aborted before launch Wednesday morning. Air Force Global Strike command says they are assessing the potential for rescheduling the launch.

A "ground abort" was initiated and is under investigation. The launch window had been 12:15 a.m. to 6:15 a.m.

The test launch would be the second in recent months, meant to test the effectiveness of the United States defense system.
