Construction of new handicapped-accessible playground at Preisker Park 50 percent complete
SANTA MARIA, Calif. - The Santa Maria Recreation and Parks Department and the Santa Maria Kiwanis for Kids Foundation are building a playground that would be accessible and fun for all children and parents, including those with varying disabilities, at a local park.
This week, crews installed the cement for the playground.
The Santa Maria Rec and Parks Department said this is the first all-inclusive playground built in Santa Barbara County.
The new playground is expected to open by the end of spring.
