MGN

LOS ALAMOS, Calif. - A 16-year-old Oxnard teen was killed and four others hurt in a car crash in Los Alamos.

The crash happened on Saturday night southbound on Highway 101 near Cat Canyon Road.

According to the California Highway Patrol, 46-year-old Rosalio Gutierrez tried to make a left turn from Cat Canyon Road onto northbound 101 when he failed to yield to oncoming traffic.

Gutierrez's Toyota Camry slammed into a Honda Accord carrying four people from Oxnard, including two juveniles.

A 16-year-old was taken to the Marian Medical Center where he died from his injuries.

The crash is under investigation, but drugs and alcohol do not appear to be a factor in the accident.
