Santa Maria drive-in listed for sale
SANTA MARIA, Calif. -- The Santa Maria drive-in theater may be closing soon.
The land it’s on is being posted for sale on the website of Lee & Associates Commercial Real Estate Services.
The company listed the price tag for the 8.89 acre site at $3.3 million.
The Hi-Way Drive-In has been a staple on the Central Coast for decades.
The listing for the sale says it’s been open since 1959.
The description for the listing says the current zoning for the area could allow senior housing medical offices, professional offices, and other commercial uses.
The brokers also wrote that the City of Santa Maria is encouraging a shift to residential development as the land use has changed in the area.
The only other drive-in open on the Central Coast right now is in San Luis Obispo.
