One of the longest-serving condemned inmates, Malcolm Robbins, dies at California State Prison Corcoran

CORCORAN, Calif. – One of the longest serving condemned people in California, Malcolm Robbins, died on Jan. 27 while incarcerated at California State Prison, Corcoran.

Initially, Robbins was sentenced on May 12, 1983 in Santa Barbara County for kidnapping, rape and murder in the first degree of a 6-year-old Goleta boy.

Robbins was found unresponsive in his cell at 6:33 a.m. and his cause of death has been identified as natural causes according to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.

The Kings County Coroner's Office will determine an official cause of death.
