Goleta High School Teacher honored with inclusion award Saturday night
SANTA BARBARA, Calif.– Goleta culinary arts teacher, Chef Terri Ingram, at Dos Pueblos High School was presented the "extraordinary educator" award at the 11th annual Down Syndrome Association of Santa Barbara hoe down Saturday night.
Ingram was honored for her outstanding work with students with Down syndrome and those with other special needs in the community.
In her 11 years at Does Pueblos High School, Ingram has become a leader in inclusion and diversity in the classroom even starting a Coffee Cart and SpEd Café at the high school where students can exercise real life skills alongside their peers.
Unable to attend the ceremony Principal Bill Woodard accepted the award on her behalf. The night celebrated, not only, educators, but all families with a night filled with games and food sponsored by Bartlett Pringle & Wolf, Rio Vista Chevrolet and Children's Hospital of Los Angeles - Santoro Lab, Neurology.Â
