Operation Clean Sweep sweeps Santa Barbara Harbor ocean floor

SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, Calif. – Operation Clean Sweep swept the ocean bottom beneath the Santa Barbara Harbor on Saturday for the program's 15th annual cleanup.

At Marine One, volunteer divers brought items up to volunteers who came from National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Santa Barbara Channelkeeper, Santa Barbara Sail and Power Squadron, and Salty Dog Dive Service.

In the past, this operation has found everything from phones to bicycles, even a toilet.

Organizers said they hope the sweep is a reminder not to pollute.
