Bakersfield man arrested for felony DUI after collision at Highway 46 and Golden Hill Road

PASO ROBLES, Calif. – A 49-year-old Bakersfield man was arrested for felony DUI and felony hit-and-run after a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 46 and Golden Hill Road Monday.

On March 24, first responders were dispatched to the intersection of eastbound Highway 46 and Golden Hill Road for a traffic collision involving a 2020 Ford truck and a 2015 Jeep stated a press release issued Tuesday from the Paso Robles Police Department.

Arriving officers found the driver of the Ford conscious but complaining of head and neck pain and the driver was transported to a local hospital for further treatment shared the Paso Robles Police Department.

According to Paso Robles Police, the driver of the Jeep was not on the scene when first responders arrived and witnesses reported that he was last seen running north toward the Eagle Energy Gas Station.

Officers found the driver of the Jeep, a 49-year-old Bakersfield man, hiding in the parking lot of the Eagle Energy Gas Station and when detected, the man attempted to run from officers detailed the Paso Robles Police Department.

The 49-year-old was quickly taken into custody and "showed obvious signs of alcohol intoxication at the time he was placed under arrest" stated the Paso Robles Police Department.

Paso Robles Police Department noted that the 49-year-old had visible injuries from the collision and was transported to the an area hospital for medical treatment.

After the man was medically cleared, he was booked at the San Luis Obispo County Jail for felony driving under the influence, felony hit-and-run, and additional misdemeanor violations explained the Paso Robles Police Department.
