Woods Humane Society hosts $14 adoption special until Feb. 14

Woods Humane Society

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif.– Woods Humane Society is reducing adoption fees to $14 beginning Feb. 1 until Feb. 14 in honor of the season of love.

Usual adoption fees can range from $65 to $150 for adult dogs and cats and the decreased fee removes a barrier for potential owners.

Woods Humane Society CEO Neil Trent says Valentine's Day is the perfect time to inspire anyone in need of companionship to think of adopting.

“At a time when our kennels and those of our shelter partners are absolutely brimming with adoptable animals eager to give their hearts to a family, Valentine’s Day seems like a great reason to remind our community of the incredible love and companionship they can find by adopting a shelter pet."

The non-profit ran a "Love is in the Air" social media campaign asking for submissions of photos capturing the love between owners and their furry friends to create artwork for the adoption special.

Recently adopted Woods dog Indi with owner Robyn Friedman O’Leary, a three-time adopter, long-time foster volunteer, and supporter of Woods.
