Latest traffic updates in SLO county
SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY, Calif. – Caltrans and California Highway Patrol provided the following status of road closures and re-openings in San Luis Obispo County.
CHP SLO confirmed Highway 101 is open in both directions throughout San Luis Obispo County.
CalTrans District 5 reported a portion of State Route 229 is closed due to the roadway being washed out.
State Route 166 is still closed from Highway 101 to State Route 33 due to road conditions at the Kern County side.
State Route 41 from Morro Bay to Atascadero has reopened, as well as northbound Highway 1 at the Main St offramp.
There is still a full southbound and northbound closure on Highway 1 from Deetjen's Big Sur Inn to the Elephant Seal Vista, south of Ragged Point.
State Route 135 has reopened between Harris Grade and Bell St.
San Marcos Pass is closed from State Route 192 to the 154/246 Roundabout due to storm debris.
Highway 154 is closed from State Route 192 to the 154/246 Roundabout due to rockfall, mudslides and debris in multiple locations with slope failures above the highway. As of 10 a.m. Thursday, SLO County Office of Emergency Services said the county places concrete barricades on Chimney Rock Rd, which has "degraded to the point where driving on it is a threat to life safety," according to SLO County OES.
