SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY, Calif. – The Woods Humane Society provided over 1,000 free vaccinations for San Luis Obispo County pets this year.

Petco Love's national vaccine initiative covered the costs of the vaccines that prevent the most common causes of death amongst pet cats and dogs.

Woods Humane Society CEO Neil Trent said, "Thanks to Petco Love, we have been able to offer these important vaccines at no cost to more than 1,040 pet owners--and counting--this year to make our local pets safer and healthier.”

These preventable diseases, panleukopenia in cats and parvovirus and distemper in dogs, can spread in enclosed spaces like kennels and shelters.

Susanne Kogut, Petco Love President said, “By creating greater awareness and making this crucial preventative care more accessible to pets not currently receiving these lifesaving vaccines, we can prevent the dangerous spread of disease.”

Woods Humane Society offered these free vaccines for their existing spay/neuter clients, but if you would like to learn more, visit their website here or give them a call at 805-543-9316.
