Paso Robles passes two additional COVID-19 urgency ordinances
PASO ROBLES, Calif. - The Paso Robles City Council passed two additional urgency ordinances at Tuesday night's scheduled meeting to help businesses and residents through the financial hardships caused by the pandemic.
The council voted to waive penalties and interest for late water and sewer service payments during the duration of the COVID-19 emergency, and to extend the deadline to pay the annual business license tax renewal from June 30, 2020 to August 31, 2020, waiving any penalties and interest during this same time period.
City officials said they understand how people may be unable to make their utility payments as many have lost their jobs due to the stay at home order.
On April 21, 2020, the council voted to waive penalties and interest for late Transient Occupancy Tax (TOT) revenues until August 31, 2020. The council also put in place an eviction moratorium.
