Two men arrested for robbing Oxnard liquor store at knife-point
OXNARD, Calif. - Ventura County Sheriff's deputies arrested two men on Thursday for robbing the El Rio Liquor store in Oxnard at knife-point.
Deputies said that around 9:44 p.m. on Jan. 11, a man reportedly brandished a knife at the store on Vineyard Avenue before making off with cash and liquor bottles.
The suspect allegedly entered a vehicle that had been waiting outside.
Deputies took the initial reports down and published surveillance camera images of the suspect, asking for the public's assistance in identifying him.
After some time, detectives developed leads about the suspects and, on Feb. 4, obtained and served a search warrant in Oxnard for them.
During the search, detectives said they found evidence linking two men to the robbery as well as a semi-automatic handgun that was not registered to any of the residents of the home.
The two men were arrested and face charges for robbery and conspiracy.
They were booked in the Ventura County Jail where one man is being held on $250,000 while a no-bail violation of probation hold was placed on him for a previous robbery case. The other man's bail was set at $205,000.
Both men are expected to appear in court on Monday, Feb. 8, at 1:30 p.m.
Detectives believe the two men have likely committed other robberies in Ventura County. If you have any information, please contact Detective Janca at 805-654-2360.
