LOMPOC, Calif. - A domestic violence suspect was arrested Wednesday after a shelter-in-place order was issued in Lompoc.

The Lompoc Police Department and the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office responded to a home on the 500 block of Brookside Drive in Lompoc for a report of a domestic violence incident.

A woman who had visible bruises spoke to police. She said she was in an argument with her husband that became physical. She said her husband had mentioned he wanted to be injured or killed.

Police attempted to make contact with the male suspect inside the home but received no response. The woman told police that her husband inside the home had access to a registered handgun, which led to a shelter-in-place order being issued.

A Lompoc police Armored Response Vehicle responded to the scene.

After about 45 minutes, the man eventually complied and turned himself over to police.

He was arrested without incident.
