Woman accused of attempted murder in Goleta attack pleads not guilty

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - A San Jose woman who was arrested after law enforcement says she attacked a social worker and tried to kidnap her non-custodial child has pleaded not guilty to charges stemming from the December attack.

On Dec. 27, Theresa Colosi, 55, of San Jose pleaded not guilty to four felony counts including attempted murder and attempted kidnapping.

Detectives said Colosi attacked a court ordered supervisor in the parking lot of Zodo's Bowling Alley in Goleta during a supervised visit with her 12-year-old son.

During the attack, Colosi's child fled to get help. Colosi then left the area without her son.

Colosi was arrested in Whitefish, Montana after chartering a private flight from Lompoc. Investigators say Colosi attempted to kidnap her child and flee the state to Montana.

She was extradited back to Santa Barbara on Dec. 21.

She is due back in court next week.
