SACRAMENTO, Calif. – From this year forward, California's official "Americans with Disabilities Act Awareness Day", will be Jul. 26.

Governor Gavin Newsom issued the proclamation today dedicated to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), recognizing California's commitment to creating a world accessible to all.

Exactly 33 years ago, the ADA was signed into law, prohibiting discrimination against people with disabilities. This includes equal access to employment, transportation, and accommodations.
