Santa Barbara Man Dies After Thursday Evening Attack; Local Police Investigating Death As A Homicide

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (KEYT) – On Thursday, 18-year-old Pablo Fabian Hernandez of Santa Barbara was found unresponsive at Chase Palm Park before later passing away from his injuries at Cottage Hospital and his death is now under investigation as a homicide.

According to the Santa Barbara Police Department, there is currently no evidence that the killing was gang related and investigators believe that the incident was isolated without a broader risk to the public.

Hernandez's death is now under investigation as a homicide and anyone with more information is asked to contact the Santa Barbara Police Department at 805-897-2355.

On Sep. 24, around 6:55 p.m., dispatchers received a call about about an unresponsive man at Chase Palm Park at 300 East Cabrillo Boulevard stated a press release from the Santa Barbara Police Department.

The man, identified Friday as Pablo Hernandez, was transported to Cottage Hospital with multiple injuries to his upper body sustained during an assault shared the local law enforcement agency.

Shortly after arriving at Cottage Hospital, the 18-year-old died from his injuries Thursday evening noted the Santa Barbara Police Department.
