Local Marine Combat Veteran ships an estimated 1,000 uniforms to civilian fighters in Ukraine

Marine Veteran donated uniforms he usually rents to Hollywood productions to Ukrainians

OXNARD, Calif. – A local Marine Combat Veteran is doing his part to help the civilian fighters in Ukraine.

Jon Barton is sending an estimated 1,000 military issued uniforms to Ukraine that he usually rents to Hollywood TV shows and movies.

The president of the War Fighter Group had the uniforms in storage.

However, before the uniforms are flown out, Barton took off any patches that show u.S. Flags, insignias on names that are still on any of these uniforms.

Barton called this "sterilizing the uniforms."

"Our inspiration here, our objective here is trying to get the uniforms and tactical gear to the Ukrainian people who are going to fight against Russia," said Barton. "To make sure they are equipped the best they can."

Barton said that after being on the front lines, it's frustrating to watch the war on television.

Everything Barton is packaging will go on a plane Tuesday morning, and should arrive on Wednesday for Ukrainians to use.
