Shots fired at Santa Maria apartment building, no injuries reported

SANTA MARIA, Calif. - Santa Maria police say no injuries were reported after shots were fired at an apartment complex Wednesday evening.

The police department says it happened just after 7:30 p.m. near West Morrison Avenue and South Western Avenue.

Police arrived at the scene and neighbors pointed them in the direction of an apartment complex on the 1000 block of West Morrison.

Officers found several shell casings and a bullet that hit the apartment complex, but they said it doesn't appear anyone was hit by the gunfire or injured.

Police said there was no threat to the public.

No arrests have been made.

The incident is under investigation.
