Preliminary hearing to continue for Santa Maria murder suspect

SANTA MARIA, Calif. - A preliminary hearing for a man accused of killing another man inside a Santa Maria restaurant will continue in February.

29-year-old Juan Carlos Hernandez remains in custody.

Hernandez is suspected of killing 33-year-old Jose Medina Gonzalez at 805 Tacos on West Main Street back in October.

Hernandez was later arrested in Mexico on October 21st and brought back to Santa Maria, the U.S. Marshall's office said.

Hernandez faces charges like serious felony, violent felony and use of a firearm.
