Murder suspect in Santa Maria enters plea

A man accused of killing another inside a Santa Maria restaurant last month has entered a not guilty plea Wednesday, according to Santa Barbara County officials.

Juan Carlos Hernandez, 29, of Santa Maria is suspected of killing 33-year-old Jose Medina Gonzalez of Santa Maria at 805 Tacos on West Main Street on October 6th.

Hernandez was later arrested in Mexico on October 21st and brought back to Santa Maria, the U.S. Marshall's office said.

Hernandez faces charges like serious felony, violent felony and use of a firearm.

Hernandez is set to appear back in court for a preliminary hearing on December 18th.
