Runners hit the streets for Santa Barbara Chardonnay run

Hundreds of people hit the pavement for a spring running event Saturday morning in Santa Barbara.

The ‘ Santa Barbara Chardonnay 10-miler and 5k ‘ started at Leadbetter Beach and continued along the waterfront.

Well known racer Ramiro “Curly” Guillen won the 10 mile race, completing it in about 50 minutes.

Guillen said that although he’s getting older, age isn’t slowing him down.

“This is my last race as a 34-year-old,” Guillen said. “Two days ago I found my first gray hair, but I’m not getting old yet!”

After the race, runners consoled themselves and recovered with a glass of wine.
