Make holiday memories by putting down electronic devices
Thanksgiving is a time for families to spend time together, but sometimes email, Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat get in the way.
Relatives may be thankful for family members and friends willing to turn off their devices,
The creator of the lifestyle and relationship site “The Modern Day Girlfriend” (www.themoderndaygirlfriend.com) said now is good time to give it a try.
Arianna Thomopoulos said the holidays are good time to unplug.
“Spend time with your family put the phone down, get off the computer. you don’t need to share everything with everybody. It is going to be OK. It is going to be there, but those memories with your family won’t be there if you are in your phone,” said Thomopoulos.
Some people have chosen to take a break from Facebook and social media to shake off the election.
Others log off to make time to get errands done
Thomopoulos said there are pros and cons to social media when you are dating, but when you are with family and friends it is nice to tune in to them.
She makes time for family including her model, host and cookbook author mother Cristina Ferrere.
She said when you put the phone down you can make memories.
