Daniel Buratto’s three-run homer in the second inning was all the runs that Gabe Speier and the Chargers bullpen needed in a 4-2 win over Buena. Dos Pueblos remains in first place in the Channel League at 4-1.
Buratto jumped all over a hanging curveball in the second inning and blasted the homer into the trees beyond the leftfield fence. Ben York ripped a run-scoring triple later in the second as the Chargers scored all four of their runs in that frame, all with two out.
Speier celebrated his 18th birthday with 10 strikeouts as he picked up the win. Erik Olson was solid in relief as DP improved to 13-8 on the season.
