Fundraiser helps family of 2-year old burn victim

A two-year-old burn victim is getting love and donations from Santa Barbara residents.

Susie Figueroa was badly hurt when she was inside a burning minivan on February 25, on a Santa Barbara street where it was parked. She was rescued by a nearby resident and her mother, who was also hurt. They are being treated at a special burn center in Orange County.

Now, customers at Business First Bank are chipping in to help the family with donations. Some bought items at an employee bake sale today and left cash in a collection jar.

Residents who missed the bake sale fundraiser can still stop in with a donation next week.

Funds will go to help the family with medical costs, and to purchase a new vehicle.
