UCSB’s winning streak against Cal Poly ends at six
Cal Poly finally got some revenge on rival UCSB as they won 67-49 in front of a sold out Mott Athletics Center. Dylan Royer drilled seven three-pointers for a team-high 23 points as the Mustangs improve to 8-5 in the Big West Conference.
UCSB entered the game having beaten Cal Poly six straight times with several of those games decided in the final seconds including a double-overtime win earlier in the year in Santa Barbara. Alan Williams had a game-high 24 points and 17 rebounds but UCSB never led in this game as they slip to 4-9 in the Big West.
UCSB junior Kyle Boswell injured his shoulder early in the second half and did not return. The Gauchos play at UC Riverside on Wednesday.
