Deadly Pedestrian Car Crash

A man is dead after being hit by a car in Ventura. The accident happened near Thompson Boulevard and Palm Street around 5:30p.m. Friday. Ventura Police say Billy Herring was legally walking in an unmarked crosswalk. They say the driver, Melissa Ogan, stopped after hitting Herring. Herring died at the scene. No one else was hurt. Police say Ogan is at fault, so far no charges have been filed. She was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
