Cambria Christmas Market donates lights to businesses
CAMBRIA, Calif. - The Cambria Christmas Market is donating Christmas lights to local businesses to help boost holiday spirit.
Market organizers say they donated about a thousand feet of light strands to businesses in Cambria.
The market typically hosts a Christmas decoration contest for businesses, but with prices increasing and a supply shortage happening, lights were donated to businesses to make sure everyone could participate.
A market spokeswoman says the average cost of Christmas lights is about $2 per foot, making the donation worth about $2,000.
Eight different businesses will receive lights from the market.
"We're excited to donate these Christmas lights to the businesses in East Village! We always encourage our guests to check out the shops in town. We hope these lights will help send more business their way by making the town just as festive as the market," said Mike Arnold, Cambria Christmas Market Event Manager, in a press release.
The Cambria Christmas Market is open through Jan. 1, 2022.
Guests can check out 2 million Christmas lights, along with food, drinks and a German Christmas Market.
