SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - The first employee with the California Men's Colony in San Luis Obispo tested positive for COVID-19.

The number was updated on the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation website on Thursday.

The CDCR reported that a contact investigation was conducted by their Office of Employee Health and local public health offices to determine anyone the employee may have been in contact with recently.

The announcement comes one day after a second CMC inmate tested positive for the virus on Wednesday. The first inmate was confirmed positive on April 11.

At this time there does not appear to be any connections between the employee who tested positive and the inmates who have tested positive.

The CDCR has no other information available at this time.
