Marian Regional Medical Center receives second supply of COVID-19 vaccines

SANTA MARIA, Calif. - After the first shipment of COVID-19 vaccines from Pfizer, Marian Regional Medical Center is getting its second supply, this time from Moderna.

“And we’re in the process of using that to continue to follow-up on local healthcare workers,” says Dr. Scott Robertson at Marian Regional Medical Center.

"Any good news is all good news and just be happy to see things get back to some kind of normalcy that is awesome it’s just it’s nice to hear that we got some good news finally," says resident Zach Adams in Santa Maria.

Robertson says the vaccine brings much hope in terms of where we can be over the next several months.

“It’s important that the community understands that over the thousands of vaccines we have administered, and we have had an extraordinarily positive result with our employees,” says Robertson.

Doctors say the combination of shipments from Pfizer and Moderna is enough to offer the vaccine to all Dignity Health employees on the Central Coast.

“I would encourage each and everyone of you, if you’re offered the vaccine and if you’re qualified to take it, then please get vaccinated,” says Robertson.

"The sooner we can get the vaccines for everyone the better," says Adams.

Marian Regional Medical Center is also working with the County to determine the next step in prioritization for those in the community.
