BUELLTON, Calif. - Although most farms are essential, one farm near Buellton and Solvang temporarily closed for the pandemic. OstrichLand USA houses emus and ostriches.

OstrichLand USA is closed to visitors right now. The owners are having one main struggle - too many eggs.

Because they have been closed, they have not been able to sell them to visitors. Now they are sitting on well over 300 of them.

They emptied some of the eggs for artists to buy and decorate. They are selling eggs on their website as well.

They've also gotten very creative with ways to sell them safely.

"Right now, I've opened up what would be our cherry stand," Blake Fowler with Ostrich Land USA. "It's cherry season. Unfortunately we're not doing that right now. We're selling the eggs out of the stand."

The stand is perfect for physical distancing with one buyer at a time.

The farm is currently being run by the Fowler family. They have had to let go of some of their employees temporarily.

They are now making sure the farm is ready to reopen safely with physical distancing measures. They are looking at reopening in early to mid-June.
