Deputies arrest 19-year-old driver in connection with fatal hit-and-run on Storke Road Wednesday
GOLETA, Calif. – Santa Barbara County Sheriff's deputies arrested a 19-year-old in connection to a fatal hit-and-run on Storke Road on Wednesday.
Around 3:02 p.m., deputies responded to the scene and discovered a landscape maintenance worker, identified as 29-year-old Ruben Reyes Victoria, who had been hit by a car and was unconscious in the bicycle lane detail Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office.

According to Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office, responding deputies performed CPR on Reyes, but when emergency medical personnel arrived to take over care, they determined he was beyond resuscitation and pronounced him dead at the scene.
The local husband and father supported his wife and two kids as well as his family in Puebla, Mexico. A GoFundMe has been set up to support those he left behind.
Responding deputies conducted an investigation and tracked the incident to a 19-year-old in the 400 block of Storke Road where he was positively identified and arrested detail Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office.
Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office relay that the driver's booking charges and bail amount are pending and that drugs and alcohol are not considered to be a factor in the incident.
