June Gloom will obstinately remain Thursday
June Gloom is here to stay. As we head into Thursday, early morning low temperatures will be in the 50s for all. By the afternoon, highs will be in the mid 60s to low 70s for the coast, and in the 70s to low 80s inland.
On Thursday, a trough will start moving southward from the Pacific Northwest. Plus, an upper low will develop to our southwest. This will result in a lingering chance of rain or thunderstorms for the Ventura and LA County mountains. If thunderstorms develop and are slow moving, flooding could be a risk, as we have seen near the Lockwood Valley recently.
There will be slow clearing of the marine layer Thursday, but onshore flow weakens Friday and more sun could appear by the afternoon. Saturday will be the warmest and sunniest of the next seven days, despite a morning marine layer.
Saturday night and into Sunday, another trough will move through the West Coast and onshore flow will increase. As a result, there will be extensive low clouds and temperatures will cool. The night to morning cloud pattern will remain into midweek at least.
