Seven Santa Barbara Dons student-athletes are ready to take their game to college

Santa Barbara Dons salute seven student-athletes that will play sports in college.

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Despite their seasons being interrupted and games cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic, seven more Santa Barbara dons student-athletes persevered and will play sports in college.

Jake Knecht was forced to call a major audible after his initial college Azusa Pacific dropped football in December of 2020.

Knecht was able to catch on with UC Davis and will now play NCAA Division 1 football.

Volleyball player Matthew Suh is going to the Ivy League as he signs with Princeton University.

Girls basketball scoring-machine Athena Saragoza will play in Denver at Regis University.

Water polo players Juju Martinez and Jodan Hayes both sign with UC Santa Barbara.

Baseball players Oliver McKibben and Luke Wechsler are headed to the University of Colorado Colorado Springs and Cal Lutheran University respectively.
