Santa Margarita park repeatedly vandalized in 2021

SANTA MARGARITA, Calif. - The San Luis Obispo County Parks & Recreation Department reported that Santa Margarita Community Park has experienced yet another vandalism.

The park has reportedly been damaged several times over the past couple months.

The Parks & Rec Department said these incidents include graffiti sprayed inside of restrooms and, most recently, serious damage to a tree and gazebo at the park.

"Sadly, the time and expense to repair the damages could be going toward bettering the park," the department said in a Facebook post.

San Luis Obispo County is asking the community for assistance by reporting these incidents as they occur.

Anyone with information regarding the vandalism or who may be responsible is urged to contact the sheriff's office at 805-781-4550 or online.
