Wednesday morning forecast December 9th
Winds are much calmer Wednesday and temperatures are cooling by up to 15 degrees as flow turns weakly onshore by the early afternoon. Temperatures will be back in the 70s.
A high surf warning is in effect on the central coast until 3:00 pm, when it will likely be downgraded to advisory level. Waves will be at 20 feet with local sets up to 22 feet. A high surf advisory is in place on the South Coast and Ventura County Coast until 9:00 pm. Those waves will stay under 10 feet.
A light sea breeze will hit the coast by the afternoon, and overnight an onshore eddy will bring low clouds. Low clouds may stick around through morning, creating patchy fog.
Thursday, onshore flow will strengthen, bringing around 10 more degrees of cooling. Coastal areas and valleys will be below normal.
Friday, an upper low will move into the state, but we will have light offshore flow. Over the weekend, ridging and strengthening offshore flow will warm temperatures slightly, but they will stay near normal.
