Santa Maria firefighters respond to motor home fire

SANTA MARIA, Calif. - The Santa Maria Fire Department responded to a motor home engulfed in flames on the corner of W Lee Drive and N Western Avenue.

Firefighters said they saw smoke on arrival, but the fire soon grew to open flame.

They posted about the fire on Twitter around 9:20 p.m. Friday night.

Police were not able to locate the owner of the motor home. No one was inside of the motor home at the time of the fire.

Santa Maria firefighters said they took about 10 minutes to fully extinguish the fire.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation by fire investigators and Santa Maria police.

A SM Fire Battalion Chief said that at this time, nothing looks suspicious.
