Falcon 9 Launch of Starlink Satellites Scheduled For Late Friday Into Early Saturday

KEYT News

VANDENBERG SPACE FORCE BASE, Calif. (KEYT) – A Falcon 9 launch carrying 27 Starlink satellites destined for a low-Earth orbit is currently scheduled for liftoff Friday evening into early Saturday.

The launch window on this mission opens on Friday, Oct. 30, at 8:48 p.m. and closes 48 minutes into Saturday morning Pacific Time.

A live webcast of the launch will begin about ten minutes before liftoff. You can tune in to watch here or on SpaceX's X/Twitter account.

Following first-stage separation, the booster assigned to this mission will return to Earth to land on the Of Course I Still Love You droneship awaiting in the Pacific Ocean.

A depiction of that launch sequence is shown in the image below.

There is the potential for one or more sonic booms to be hears across the local region during the launch, but how far the sound travels will depend on weather and other conditions at launch time.

This will be the 18th mission for the Falcon 9 assigned to this launch. The same booster previously launched the following missions: SDA-T1TL-B, SDA-T1TL-C, Transporter-16, and 14 prior Starlink missions.
