Tracking heat & humidity Wednesday, lingering thunderstorm chances

Peak heating for many areas arrives Wednesday. High pressure and offshore flow will bring 80s, 90s and triple digits to the Central Coast. Humidity is a big factor in this forecast and will make it feel much hotter than average. Skies remain partly cloudy to overcast. Rain chances diminish down to 10%. A few pop up showers are possible but rain amounts look minimal. Extreme Heat Warnings and Heat Advisories go into effect at 10am and hold through Thursday evening. Marine waters are calm for most, so it is safe to head out to the beaches and enjoy the ocean waters! Overnight lows will be very warm for many, some areas drop down to upper 60s and 70s. 

The last day of heat holds through Thursday. Expect more sunshine throughout the day. Car temperatures can skyrocket in a matter of minutes so make sure you look before you lock. Practice heat safety. 

We begin a cooling trend Friday into the weekend. Many areas fall back to average. Onshore flow is reestablished and marine clouds return for most. Humidity values drop. Enjoy!
