Santa Maria Man Dies and Another Had Major Injuries After Sunday Evening Crash

SANTA MARIA, Calif. (KEYT) – A22-year-old Santa Maria man has died and a 40-year-old Santa Maria man had major injuries after both were ejected during a single-vehicle rollover crash near Blosser Road and Eagleton Avenue Sunday evening.

On Aug. 30, around 9:43 p.m., first responders were dispatched to the intersection of Blosser Road and Eagleton Avenue for a single-vehicle rollover collision stated a press release Monday from the Santa Maria Police Department.

Arriving officers found a vehicle that had been involved in a rollover crash and that both the driver and passenger had been ejected during the collision detailed the local law enforcement agency.

According to Santa Maria Police, both people had major injuries at the scene Sunday evening and were transported to Marian Regional Medical Center for further medical treatment.

The local police department shared with Your News Channel that the 22-year-old involved in this collision died from his injuries Monday morning.

A preliminary investigation indicates that alcohol appears to have been a factor in this collision added the Santa Maria Police Department.
