U.S. Space Force Awards Latest Capacity Expansion Contract to All Points Logistics

VANDENBERG SPACE FORCE BASE, Calif. (KEYT) – On Wednesday, the U.S. Space Force announced that a third contract has been awarded to expand launch capabilities at the local spaceport.

According to the U.S. Space Force, All Points Logistics LLC. was awarded a $250 million contract to expand the processing capacity at Vandenberg Space Force Base by 2029.

This is the third public-private partnership contract and the 2025 awardees are working to expand payload expansion at both of the nation's spaceports by 2028 shared the U.S. Space Force.

"Access to the space domain is a key enabler in delivering the agility, capacity, and freedom of movement that generates enduring strategic advantage for the nation and our warfighters, and launch is a lynchpin to that access," USSF Colonel Dan Highlander, director of Operations Integration under the Acting Portfolio Acquisition Executive for Space Access explained. "The current and future operating environments rely on a launch enterprise that can scale the infrastructure and processes necessary for responsive and reliable launch capabilities. These awards are an avenue to increase payload processing capacity and reflect the continued Space Access commitment to partnership opportunities that ensure mutually beneficial outcomes for both national security and commercial launch requirements."

Space Systems Command manages an annual space acquisition budget of $15.6 billion on behalf of the Department of Defense which represents almost half of the federal government's discretionary budget and more than 70 percent of the federal government's assets.

In July of this year, the U.S. Space Force awarded two companies, Impulse Space and Relativity Federal, its latest space launch provider contracts.

They join Blue Origin, SpaceX, and United Launch Alliance (ULA) which were awarded contracts in fiscal year 2024 as well as Rocket Lab and Stoke Space which were on-ramped in fiscal year 2025.

"These new awardees [in July of this year], together with the other providers already on the Lane 1 contract, are building the next generation of launch vehicles. This is critical at a time when our launch cadence is rapidly increasing and our customers are relying on us to deliver everything they need to provide for the security of our nation and allies," said U.S. Space Force Colonel Eric Zarybnisky, the acting Portfolio Acquisition Executive for Space Access. "[The July] awards create new partnerships that further expand our industrial base; improving our resiliency and responsiveness so that we can reliably deliver critical defense capabilities on orbit for the security of our nation."

While preparations for the expansion of rocket launches are already in the works at the local spaceport, the military installation's Western Test Range is also the primary testing ground for the country's current nuclear response architecture and plans are already underway to modernize the test range as well as replace its aging delivery systems.
