Tracking dangerous rip currents Wednesday

Happy Wednesday! Today will be the coolest day of the week, although temperatures remain into the upper 70s, 80s and 90s for most. The Buck moon is at full illumination and will influence our tides and waves today. Couple that with the large hurricane to the south and we have extremely dangerous rip currents. Ventura and San Luis Obispo will be impacted the most with waves, coastal flooding and rip currents. High Surf Advisories and Coastal Flood Advisories begin at 5pm and will last into the weekend.

Rinse and repeat weather Thursday. Some areas may warm a few degrees but cloud coverage, winds and marine conditions remain similar.

A rapid warming trend occurs Friday and into the weekend. Many areas will experience peak heat Sunday. Waves and rip currents hold in Ventura and LA counties, avoid the water and head to the pool instead. Many areas will be under advisory level heat and fire dangers arise. More info to come.
