Hiker with broken ankle airlifted from Tangerine Falls Friday afternoon

SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, Calif. (KEYT) – A female hiker with a broken ankle was airlifted from Tangerine Falls Friday afternoon.

On April 3, around 2:40 p.m., first responders were dispatched to the Cold Springs Trail for an injured hiker at Tangerine Falls stated the Montecito Fire Protection District.

Firefighters from both Montecito and Santa Barbara alongside members of the Santa Barbara County Search and Rescue team hiked up the Cold Springs Trail and provided initial medical aid to the injured hiker suffering from a broken ankle detailed the Montecito Fire Protection District.

According to Montecito Fire, a Ventura County Fire Department helicopter responded to the scene and airlifted the hiker to an area hospital for further medical treatment.
