Milder temperatures on Thursday with more sun

An upper low is approaching our corner of California on Wednesday night. Combined with onshore flow, it could bring a couple of light rain showers, but more likely just drizzle within the marine layer. These conditions will last through Thursday morning, and then there will be more patchy clearing of our skies once the system exits.

Low temperatures on Thursday will be in the 40s to 50s. Highs will increase just a tad, but will stay below average in the 60s. On Thursday afternoon, west to northwest winds will get stronger. Wind speeds will come close to advisory level.

Friday will start off with another misty marine layer, especially for the Central Coast. Skies will then clear out completely with offshore trends. High temperatures may increase a little more and gusty winds will continue as another trough tracks more inland of us.

Warming will continue into the weekend and most valley areas will return to the 70s. By Monday, temperatures may come out just a tad above average. That day is expected to be the peak of our heat next week. The marine layer will shrink back with significantly weaker onshore flow to the east and some offshore flow from the north.
