Santa Barbara Gay Men's Chorus presents "A Midwinter Night's Dream"

SANTA BARBARA, Calif.- Hundreds of people turned out to see the Santa Barbara Gay Men's Chorus' winter concert, "A Midwinter Night's Dream."

Timothy Accurso, Artistic Director for the group, conducted the choir through a variety of songs including some holiday classics like "White Christmas" and "What Are You Doing New Year's Eve?"

"We'd like to thank the community and audience for their continued support," said Accurso. "It's been incredible to see more and more people come out and enjoy our concerts each season! Our hearts are full!"

The theme of the concert is based on dreams. Before each song, a chorus member would share a story of a dream. These stories would either be a dream they had as a child, growing up as a queer person, or a dream they have as an adult.

The winter concert also featured songs based on dreams including " The Impossible Dream" from the 1965 Broadway musical Man of La Mancha and "I Dreamed A Dream" from the 1980 Broadway musical Les Misérables.

The concert concluded with a special arrangement of "What Dreams are made of" from the the 2003 film The Lizzie McGuire Movie. The songs featured dancing and a big confetti canon finish.

Accurso says the chorus will resume rehearsals for the group's spring concert in January.
