Offshore winds and warm temperatures, Sunday Nov 8th forecast

Pixabay

Offshore winds continue to bring classic Fall weather with very warm temperatures and breezy to gusty northerly winds. A Red Flag fire warning remains in effect through early Saturday evening as we are expecting the wind to ease on Sunday and slowly turn onshore by Monday. Look for mostly clear skies overnight with lows mostly in the 50's to right around 60 degrees. However, wherever the offshore winds continue to stay active, lows could actually hover closer to 70 degrees and maybe even warmer than that.  Highs on Sunday will continue to stay well above normal even as the winds shift direction. look for highs to be once again in the 70's and 80's with a few areas reaching close to and even in to the low 90's.

Looking ahead, our slow transition to a stronger onshore flow will bring cooler weather by the second half of the upcoming work week. 70's and 80's will be widespread through Veteran's Day with more noticeable cooling next Thursday and Friday. That is also when things get interesting as our next storm systems start to line up and head our way. Our computer models are in agreement for our region seeing at least some showers by about Saturday or Sunday. The details are still being watched closely and there is widespread model disagreement about exact timing and potential rainfall rates. We will monitor closely and update our long range forecast as we get our latest model solutions. Look for frequent updates right here as well as on our News channels as we head through next week. In the meantime, enjoy the beautiful sunshine and warm temperatures.
