Thursday stays cool with extra cloud cover and a light breeze

Thursday morning will be very chilly with frost possible in Ventura County, with an advisory in place for the valley areas until 8:00 am. High temperatures will only warm a degree or two, but are staying below average. Coastal areas will be in the mid 50s to low 60s, and the interior in the 50s.

Our ridge of high pressure is very weak, thanks to low pressure in the eastern Pacific Ocean. Mid-level cloud cover will increase.

On Friday, we will be smack between the low in the ocean, plus high pressure in the Great Basin, and a trough to the east. It will set us up for offshore flow and light northeasterly winds. Winds will be strongest in Ventura County.

Winds will subside Saturday with less upper-level support, and temperatures will cool a tad. Conditions will stay dry through the weekend and well into next week. By Wednesday, temperatures will rise to near or above normal with more offshore flow.
