Thursday morning forecast September 24

A minor cool down could be expected into Friday as a weak trough rolls through our region. As pressure gradients tighten this will prompt breezy and gusty winds along the South Coast until Friday. Warmer temperatures are around the corner, as an elongated ridge of high pressure will build across the west coast from Sunday into early next week.

Strong winds will impact Santa Barbara South Coast and Mountains. With a Wind Advisory in effect from Thursday 3 PM until Friday at 3 AM. Northwest winds expected to range 15 to 30 mph and gusts up to 45 mph. The strongest winds are likely west of Goleta and near Gaviota. A High Surf Advisory will also be in effect from Thursday 9 PM until Saturday morning.

Enjoy the minor cool down expected to arrive Friday, as temperatures knock down a few degrees. By Saturday temperatures will begin to gradually warm. As a heat wave moves in Sunday and into early next week this could bring the potential for critical fire weather conditions.
