Thursday morning forecast May 21st

Santa Barbara, Calif. - Wednesday was a windy day for the California Central Coast and South Coast, and although we'll still have breezes today, the wind will be weaker than it's been for a while. After some areas of morning clouds, we can expect a brighter and warmer afternoon for everyone, with highs ranging from the lower 70s in our coastal areas to the mid 80s further inland.

A weak cold front moving north of our area will bring a weather pattern change our way. We can expect onshore flow, cooler air, more marine layer clouds and gusty wind from Friday mornin through the afternoon. This weekend a ridge will rebuild overhead and we'll have a warming trend with fewer clouds through next Tuesday before it cools a little next Wednesday.

Daytime highs will be slightly warmer than average through Saturday before warming quickly Sunday through Tuesday, making for a toasty Memorial Day weekend. Coastal highs will be mainly in the 70s, coastal valleys will rise from the lower 70s to the lower 80s, and inland valleys will rise from near 80 to the upper 80s and lower 90s. Overnight lows will be mild.
